DELAY MISSED BY DEMOCRATS

As comedian Chris Rock would say... Oh, L-A-W-W-D!!!
That is how many Democrats are reacting to the announcement that House Republican Tom Delay is retiring. Why? Because the only thing worse than Tom Delay in office is Tom Delay out of office. Every two-bit politician from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon has denounced his or her Republican (and sometimes fellow Democratic) opponent by citing how many times they have voted with Tom Delay on an issue.
As a matter of fact, a Google search of the term, "Voted with Tom Delay" will yield you more than 10,000 hits (10,300 is what I got).

The political stigma of voting with Tom Delay is not far off from accusing someone of agreeing with the public policies of Adolph Hitler, or Pontius Pilot, or Joe McCarthy...et al. Get the point?

Yes, old Tom will be missed by Democrats much more than a bad case of the crabs (which is what you might originally have thought). He has just made it a lot harder for Dems to promote their "Culture of Corruption" motif in the upcoming midterm elections by removing the head corrupter. As a bonus for Republicans, Tom's house seat can now be given to a fellow Borg...er... Republican of their choice rather than having it snatched away by a Democrat like a C-Note at a tobacco lobby fundraising dinner.

Meanwhile in Georgia, young evildoer Ralph Reed (who just might be the Antichrist) is vying for Lt. Governor. He is happier than ducks on a junebug that his highly questionable association with Jack Abramoff has not smeared his campaign (another reason that this guy has to be the Antichrist--Someone needs to check his scalp for numbers...STAT!)

In my humble opinion, Reed, who used to be the head of the Christian Coalition, is as dirty as they come.

Marvin Olasky, an influential Christian conservative and former advisor to President Bush, has even criticized Reed for "manipulating evangelicals" to aid Abramoff's casino clients, saying Reed "has shamed the evangelical community."
Tsk-Tsk, Reed's ability to lead astray so many "Chosen Children of God" must mean that he truly does posses Satanic powers.
